Suárez, Lucía M.

Associate Professor of Spanish at Amherst College. She is the author of The Tears of Hispaniola: Haitian and Dominican Diaspora Memory and the coeditor, with Ruth Behar, of The Portable Island: Cubans at Home in the World. She has received generous support for her work from the Ford Foundation, the Woodrow Wilson Center, the Rockefeller Foundation, and the Social Science Research Council.
